Read about the KL Hokkien Noodle rave review here and thought I give it a try. Perhaps my expectations were too high. It was a little sugary sweet for my liking. The lack of wok hei dampens my anticipation. Salt fish fried rice is pretty good, CKT is average fare and I did not try the BCM because it didn’t look too appetising.
Service was quick which is a plus. I reckon the Asian churches nearby brings in the lunch crowd.
Overall, it is crowded for a Sunday. Patrons must be enjoying their fares. For me, it’s just ok and I should not have been swayed by the ratings.

It’s a rare occasion to find Singaporean Fishball Meepok here in Melbourne. Danny’s version did not disappoint. It was flavoursome and the taste immediately transported me back to Singapore. It is comfort food on a cold wintry night. But there could be a more generous serve of fishballs. There were only 2 in the small bowl of soup that came with the noodles. Overall, a no fuss place to get your fix of Singaporean hawker food.

One of the best Malaysian resto in Melbourne. We love the Char Kueh Teow, which unlike the Penang's style (too sweet for our taste). The combination Hor Fun is also tasty. Teh tarik is properly served, not too sweet.

A friend recommended this place when a few of us were chatting about best char kuay teow in Melbourne. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has one of the best CKT in Melbourne! Everything is done at a moderate level - tasty but not salty, good kuay teow texture, “wok hay” not overly done, not oily nor dry, customised spiciness. It’s pretty perfect to me.
Their “wat dan ho” (combination hor fun) is also very try good. Their hor fun (kuay teow) is pretty special.
The KL hokkien noodle is not as good as the other two, it’s average.
The staff are friendly and attentive. You have to get you own water and hot tea just like any other other cafe.
We will definitely be back again to try the others as I heard their Har Mee is very good too.

Very good food. Busy bustling atmosphere gives a good vibe of a busy warm Asian eating place. CKT is good with plenty of wok hei and I do not need to go to CBD Lu Lu now. Prawn noodle soup is so full flavoured. Teh Tarik is so aromatic. Pop Piah is so authentic. Will be back. Highly recommended.
